The Rangerlord and I stumbled upon this great set of your classic heroes at OG Orchard one day. There were loads (more than 20) of this pack on sale at S$36.90 (down from $59.90), but no one was biting and they had been left lying there for a couple of months. So when we both came upon it I had said, "Yeah, there it is. The most expensive Captain America shield."
I was referring to when I had first seen this 5-pack on sale and told the Rangerlord, prompting him to say he wasn't going to pay that amount for the one thing that most would want from the gift pack.
The shield is translucent, you see, and all the figures in the sets were very basic-looking re-releases. But more on that later. I wasn't really batting an eyelid at the pile, until RL turns one of the sets over and says, "Hey, they're $15 each."
Suffice to say that caught my attention. We both snagged a set each after pouring through the boxes for a nicely painted Cap each. (And Thor. And Iron Man. And Spidey. Wolverine, not so much...Haha.)
After passing the set by for so long, I was curious to see what it offered. So here's what I found!

Spiderman 3.75" Stretch Strike Venom
Hello, True Believers!
It's been a while since I reviewed a Marvel Universe figure. I was planning a big one (Literally. You'll see. ;P) for the next review I was gonna do from that line when Bam!--I spot this guy and a couple of his buddies sitting on the pegs at a local TRU (Vivocity, for the locals!)
At first I was a bit "meh" about it until the Rangerlord pointed out that the sculpt and paint looked pretty darn cool. Moreover, the price was really ideal, even at S$11.90 retail. So several "oohs" and "ahs" later, both the Rangerlord and I had bought one each.
If this figure was anything like the Rhino from a previous wave, we were in for a treat, especially since Venom looked to have knee and head articulation where Rhino didn't.
I have to admit though, I bought this figure because of the awesome looking accessory, which kinda reminded me of an old toy my brother and I used to play with when we were kids...

Marvel Universe Secret Wars Comic Packs Issue #8
It's Magneto and Black Suit Spiderman!
I couldn't wait to get this two-pack (right after I couldn't wait to get Hulk and Cyclops) after seeing a classic Magneto. The black costume Spiderman was just a bonus, but a damn good one since he would be every bit as cool as the classic suit Spidey! Right? Wrong.
So is it just me who's biased against (yet another) black suit Spidey for this line? Or are black costume Spidey 3.75" toys sucking it right now? Well, we'll just have to clcik and find out, won't we? :P

I Finally Freed The Amazing Spiderman!
Yeah, he'd been sitting on my shelf for quite a bit, but with Halloween around the corner, and me wanting to do a Halloween themed review for Articulated Discussions, I was left with one option from the non-horror themed toys of mine--Marvel Universe 3.75" Green Goblin!
So naturally I had to open Spidey up as well, for what is the Goblin without the Spider? And what a figure or favourite wall-crawler is!
